The £300m Chesterfield Waterside mixed-use development has been given outline planning consent by the local council.
Urbo, the regeneration arm of Bolsterstone and Arnold Laver Group, will work in partnership with Chesterfield council to turn a 60-acre site into a vibrant new waterside quarter for Chesterfield.
The River Rother and Chesterfield Canal waterways are at the heart of the development and the newly constructed canal basin will form the focal point of the scheme.
The scheme’s commercial quarter will include 300,000 sq ft of grade A offices, a hotel, car parks, plus a 70,000 sq ft retail and leisure quarter comprising restaurants, bars, shops and cafes.
Peter Swallow, chairman of Chesterfield Waterside Partnership said: “Now we can turn the masterplan into a reality.”
