The local authority intends the agreement to be available for use by public sector bodies across the whole of the West Midlands region.
The framework will be established to run for an initial four-year period with an option to extend for two further periods of up to two years each.

The framework has been divided into the following seven lots:
- Lot 1 - north Birmingham: Legionella inspection and servicing,
- Lot 2 - south Birmingham: Legionella inspection and servicing,
- Lot 3 - north Birmingham: electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance and minor works (generally up to £500,000 in value);
- Lot 4 - south Birmingham: electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance and minor works (generally up to £500,000 in value);
- Lot 5 - north Birmingham: general building repair and maintenance and minor building works (generally up to £500,000 in value);
- Lot 6 - south Birmingham: general building repair and maintenance and minor building works (generally up to £500,000 in value);
- Lot 7 - capital projects or programmes of work generally exceeding £500,000 in value (no upper value limit).
Other public bodies wishing to use the framework will be able to select a contractor from the lot which best aligns with their requirements in terms of work content and geographic location.
