17 Aug 10 Carillion has been awarded a five-year extension to its existing infrastructure contracts with EDF Energy Networks, worth £40m a year.

Carillion has been awarded a five-year extension to its existing infrastructure contracts with EDF Energy Networks, worth £40m a year.

The construction and support services group's current four-year contracts with the power firm, which began in 2007, are being extended for a further five years from January 2011.

Under these contract extensions, Carillion will deliver infrastructure services for sub-stations and cabling to support the electricity network in the East of England.

Carillion chief executive John McDonough said: "This reflects the strong relationship we have built with EDF Energy Networks through our ability to work closely with our customers to understand their business needs and to develop services specifically tailored to meet those needs."
