Galliford Try has won a £6.1m contract to refurbish Rotherham Central Station from the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
The works comprise the dismantling of the existing ticket office and replacement with a modern facilities building. Galliford Try will also refurbish the platforms, installing new canopies, and remove the exit ramped access, replacing it with steps and lifts.
The station will be fully operational throughout the project.
Galliford Try was one of three bidders for the contract.
