Morgan Ashurst has been awarded two new education contracts worth £14.6m.Â
The first is an £8.7m scheme to build a Special Educational Needs primary school in the New Forest for Hampshire County Council. The school, which is set to transform special school provision in Hampshire, will feature therapy rooms, a multi-sensory area and a hydrotherapy pool. It will see two existing schools which cater for primary-aged children with special educational needs merge together.
Work starts this month and is due to be completed by June 2011.
Morgan Ashurst has also won a £5.9m contract to build a new primary school in Douglas, Scotland for South Lanarkshire Council. Covering 1,910m², the new school will be built alongside the existing Douglas Primary School, which Morgan Ashurst will demolish. The project is part of South Lanarkshire Council’s £850m Primary Schools Modernisation Programme, which will see 124 schools re-built or refurbished by 2016.
Works will begin this month and complete in May 2011.
