A £136m regeneration of Ealing’s Green Man Lane estate in west London has been granted planning approval.
Construction group Rydon and its developer partner A2Dominion had submitted their application to the London Borough of Ealing in February.
Demolition of the estate’s existing 464 homes and a multi-storey car park will start this autumn, with work on the first new homes beginning in the spring.
The first phase of the project includes 154 new homes in two blocks of three and eight storeys, plus spaces for small businesses, community facilities including a café, and an energy centre to provide power for the development.
There are another three phases planned which will add a further 552 flats and houses, including a mix of affordable rental, shared ownership, and private sale homes.
There will also be landscaping works, including 225 car parking bays at street level, 101 secure covered parking bays for residents, and a further 75 shared spaces for shoppers.
The construction programme will run for nine years in total.
Rydon and A2Dominion, which develops affordable and student housing, have been granted £13m by the Homes & Communities Agency towards the affordable homes in the first phase.
