The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has picked five construction teams to build 132 artificial rugby and football pitches around England.
The four-year framework with English rugby union's governing body is worth £57m, with each individual project costing £430,000.
The successful bidders will design, manufacture, supply and install the artificial pitches, including floodlights, fencing, drainage and service connections.
The scheme is financed by the RFU, Football Association, and Football Foundation capital funding programme.
The six selected teams are:
- FieldTurf Tarkett/The ERDC Group
- Greenfields (Sports Surfaces) UK
- Tigerturf (UK)
- Limonta Smith JV
- Support in Sport (UK)
- Lano Sports NV
The artificial pitches, which will be used only for training, are constructed from a synthetic fibre turf, with sand and rubber infill sat on a rubber shock-pad and a complex drainage system.
