Aecom has secured the first two phases of the Long Street development, which comprises a 10-storey new build over a secant-piled basement, as well as the significant structural modifications and refurbishment of two existing buildings. The project will provide 119 new apartments.
Client is Izaki Group Investments (IGI) and the architect is Fletcher Priest. ե֭ will start this month.
Aecom’s contracting capability was acquired through the purchase of US companies Tishman ե֭ in 2010 and Hunt ե֭ Group in 2014. Since then, Aecom has built more than 6,000 apartments in New York.
John Hilton, Aecom’s head of construction services for UK & Ireland, said the Shoreditch contract was “part of our focused strategy to bring Aecom’s global design and build capabilities to the UK commercial and residential sector”.
