The 10-year, US$125m (£74m) performance-based firm-fixed price contract, of which $27 million has already been authorised to date, will see Arcadis working with the Air Force to return impacted areas to beneficial use, improve the quality of drinking water and restore balance to local ecosystems.
Arcadis will use technologies such as in-situ remediation and directed groundwater recirculation to clean up 14 groundwater plumes, 31 soil contaminated sites, 58 petroleum-impacted sites and four landfills.
