Lucion, which provides asbestos surveying, air testing and training services, has moved to bigger premises in Wolverhampton, opened a new office in Bristol and relocated its East Anglia operation to a larger site in Letchworth.
It has also completed a £250,000 development of its laboratory at its Gateshead headquarters, complete with scanning electron microscope that will enable the firm to provide specialist testing such as fire treated asbestos fibres.
Lucion employs 170 people and has an £11m turnover but it is looming to grow this to take a larger share of the UK market for asbestos surveying and air testing, which is estimated to be worth £240m a year and rising.
Lucion managing director Patrick Morton said: “We have the strong foundations and plans in place to take us forward over the next few years to secure our turnover target. So with these new investments, the availability of the best technology and our growing team of experts, we will continue to develop our position as market leaders and secure the needs of our customers.”
