Existing work with Louisiana clients, coupled with a recent contract award from the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority (CPRA), solidified Atkins’ plans to open an office in the city and increase project support throughout the state.
“Atkins is in lockstep with CPRA, the coastal master plan it is charged with implementing, and community partners throughout Louisiana who are focused on protecting natural resources, critical energy infrastructure, and the economic engine that helps this area thrive,” said Atkins North America CEO Joe Boyer.
The new engineering services contract for CPRA involves data collection and design and construction oversight. In addition to coastal restoration assignments, Atkins provides programme management services as a subconsultant on the City of Baton Rouge’s Green Light Plan transport project to expand the capacity of road infrastructure. The firm is also performing value engineering services for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) on large civil works infrastructure projects.
