This is the fourth project and second housing facility Balfour Beatty has worked on for George Mason University.
The Balfour Beatty-led team, which again includes design partner Gensler, will provide Mason with student housing solution to meet the needs of the growing university.
The 295-bed residence hall will link students together into communities with public spaces and amenities, including study and social lounges on each floor and a ground-floor multipurpose room with a lounge and laundry facilities. Outdoor amenities include a plaza and bike racks.
Other key partners within the design-build team include: Thornton Tomasetti as structural engineer, Encon Group as MEP engineer, Paciulli, Simmons & Associates as civil and environmental engineer, LSG Landscape Architecture as landscape architect and GeoConcepts Engineering as geotechnical engineer.
The design-build team will work closely with Mason to develop and finalise the design.
