Royal BAM Group’s operating company CEI-De Meyer will carry out civil engineering works to the north and south of Mechelen’s rail station.
Both contracts are part of the construction of a new rail bypass to improve access for Mechelen. The work, which CEI-De Meyer will undertake in joint venture with Jan de Nul, includes the construction of railway crossings, a tunnel under the Leuven-Dijle Canal, a railway bridge over the Leuven-Dijle Canal, a rail bridge over the river Dijle and adjustments of rail tracks and overhead lines.
The CEI-De Meyer/Jan de Nul joint venture will start construction activities this summer 2013 and construction will take three years.
