The 200-bed hotel, to be built on University Park next to the East Midlands Conference Centre, has been designed with state-of-the-art low energy featuresas part of the University’s strategy to reduced its carbon footprint.
Solar photovoltaic panels and ground-sourced heat technology are incorporated, as well as a lower energy assisted-cooling ventilation system, green roofs and maximum use of natural daylight.
Completion is scheduled for the end of 2012.
