The new building will be delivered by BAM ե֭ South East at Thames Valley Police’s principle training facility in Sulhamstead, Berkshire.

As well as a dedicated facility for officer safety training and fitness assessments, the scheme will create some limited additional meeting rooms, office accommodation and support rooms.

The building is being designed to reach BREEAM Excellent standard and will embody sustainable design principles. The scheme is planned to include a green roof, photovoltaics, a biomass boiler and timber roof beams.

Work is expected to start on site in September 2012 and to complete in September 2013.

ե֭ director Bob Sanders said: “We took a lot of time to understand the client’s brief and are delighted to be able to use our skills and experience to deliver a sustainable, progressive training facility for police officers in the Thames Valley.”

BAM bid for the work through the IESE Framework. Thames Valley Police capital schemes manager Danny Clarke said: “BAM demonstrated a clear understanding of our requirements and has shown a commitment to deliver a high quality project.”
