The work will be carried out by a joint venture consisting of BAM Infra and BAM’s German tunnel specialist Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau.
The Rotterdamsebaan project is designed to reduce congestion and improve accessibility by connecting the A4 and A13 motorways and the city centre’s ring road. The 4km scheme includes a 1.8km underground section.
Construction will start in mid-2016 and the first cars should be able to use the new road in the spring of 2020. The contract also covers 15 years of maintenance.
