The new project – Bardsley’s fifth for X1 - involves the construction of 140 one- and two-bedroom apartments, office space and residents’ gym in a 11-storey block on an old car park site. The reinforced concrete frame structure will be clad with metal cladding, Trespa boarding and render and will include a basement car park.
The scheme due for completion in April 2016. The instruction to proceed on this project follows the completion of a £4.8m 160-bed student accommodation block for X1 in Liverpool, a £3.45m 109-unit student block in Salford, ongoing £6.7m project for refurbishment at X1 Salford Town Hall and a £7.6m project to provide a 231-unit student block in Liverpool.
Bardsley also announced a £10.4m project win in Bradford earlier this week, involving construction of 47 self-contained apartments and 30 dementia flats together with a day centre for community use.
