The new machines join five other Cat 320EL excavators that were ordered last year and bring Blackwood Plant Hire’s fleet to 21 Cat machines.
Tom Blackwood, owner of Blackwood Plant Hire, said: “We initially ordered five Cat 320ELs last year and feedback from our customers highlighted how well the machine performs in terms of both economy and productivity.
The machines were delivered by Caterpillar dealer Finning, whose key account manager Alistair Murdoch said: “Having established a solid working relationship with Blackwood Plant Hire, it is very promising to see the impact the Cat machines have had on their customers and operators. Running costs for any machine can be quite high, so we have to understand the customer’s requirements before we can recommend a solution.
“T Cat 320EL meets the needs of Blackwood Plant Hire customers as it’s equipped to meet Stage IIIB emission standards, which generates more power and uses far less fuel than the previous engine did.”
