Bobcat engines have been developed with a new combustion system to meet the EU Stage IIIB/Stage IV regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The new combustion system is called the ULPC (Ultra Low Particulate matter Combustion) system.
Bobcat said it would release more details on the new Bobcat EU Stage IIIB and Stage IV compliant compact machines over the next 12 months. The engines will be introduced in Europe in 2015.
Development of the new engines resulted from collaboration between Bobcat, its parent company Doosan and several engine design firms, including Ricardo, FEV and others.
