In September 2012, Michelmersh Brick Holdings reported that it expected only to break even for the year. However, with sales surprisingly high in the fourth quarter, the board now expects to announce a modest profit when the numbers are officially released in March.
The company said that trading activity in the second half of 2012 was “very patchy”, with record levels of turnover and profitability in October but a less busy November and December.
January 2013 started well, the company said, until the snow came and “threatened the promise of a good start to the year”.
