The contract is worth a total of CA$206m (£128.3m) and Bouygues Building Canada’s share amounts to CA$142m.
The contract includes the financing, design and construction of a 22,500-seat Canadian football stadium in Hamilton, an athletics and rugby stadium with a capacity of just over 3,000 spectators on the York University campus and a 2,500-seat indoor velodrome in Milton. It also covers the renovation of four athletics tracks.
The works will get under way late this year and handover is scheduled for summer 2014. More than 740 people will be involved at peak periods. The buildings will have LEED Silver certification, reflecting the environmental protection measures being taken on this project and Bouygues Õ¥Ö¼§â€™s sustainable construction strategy.
The facilities are primarily intended for use in the 2015 Pan American Games, which will be held in Toronto.
This new contract is the first awarded to Bouygues Õ¥Ö¼§ in Ontario. In recent years, the group has had several projects in British Colombia.
