The schools are Langdon Park School, Stepney Green Mathematics & Computing College, Central Foundation School for Girls and Phoenix School.
The schools are continuing to function normally during the works. Bouygues has organised itself to minimise disruption and it will observe strict noise limitations. Temporary classrooms are also being provided during the construction period. Handover of the first two schools is scheduled for September 2013, with the other two following before the start of 2014.
Bouygues has already been involved in two previous phases of secondary school regeneration in the borough of Tower Hamlets, as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, with works at some 10 educational institutions either in progress or completed.
Over the past six years, Bouygues has constructed or refurbished 24 school buildings across the UK.
