Conventional negative pressure disposable and semi-disposable masks rely on a tight fit to the face to be effective and must be face-fit tested as well as being fitchecked every single time they are used. They also don’t work well on unshaven faces.
However, JSP’s new Jetstream Switch & Go powered respirator uses positive pressure to create an air suction around the base, thus forming a barrier between the air inside and outside the mask.
The power-pack supplying the mask is carried on a belt and gives up to eight hours of pure air before it needs to be recharged. The Jetstream Switch & Go can be used with or without head protection or with a variety of different headpieces depending on the application.
