Brenley Park development starts

22 Mar 11 Willmott Dixon has started construction work to develop a seven acre site once used by Eastfield High School as playing fields but unused for over 15 years, into a new housing scheme.

The £26m development is being led by Brenley Park LLP, a joint venture between Willmott Dixon Homes and Notting Hill Housing Group, in partnership with national housing and regeneration body, the Homes and Communities Agency, which owns the site and has contributed grant funding of £6m to support the delivery of affordable homes.

Situated on Cedars Avenue, less than half a mile from Mitcham town centre, Brenley Park will provide 169 new homes; 72 will be offered for private sale by Willmott Dixon Homes, with Notting Hill Housing Group offering a further 64 for shared ownership and 33 for affordable rent.

The first homes for occupation are expected to be ready by December 2011 with the whole development completed by 2013.
