Builder disqualified for tax dodging

5 Dec 16 A tax-dodging builder has been disqualified from being a company director for nine years.

Rafal Bogdan, the director of RAF-London Ltd, has been disqualified for failing to ensure that his company accounted for cash receipts totalling £1,199,000 which resulted in an estimated loss of £288,414 to HM Revenue & Customs.

Following an investigation by the Insolvency Service, Rafal Bogdan entered into a disqualification undertaking, prevents him from setting up or running a company.

Building contractor RAF-London went into liquidation in July 2015 with liabilities to creditors of £448,351, of which £436,155 was owed to HMRC.

Mr Bogdan was the sole registered director.

Insolvency Service investigator Sue MacLeod said: “Neglect of tax affairs is not a victimless action as it deprives the taxpayer of funds needed to operate public services. The Insolvency Service will take action against directors who do not take their obligations seriously and abuse their position.”
