The team’s US$985m (£643m) bid was announced as the ‘apparent best value’, with the cost of the design-build contract between Madera and Fresno estimated by the CHSPA at between US$1.2bn and US$1.8bn.
The Dragados/Samsung/Pulice JV was placed second in the process with a bid of US$1.08bn.
“Today is a significant milestone,” said Jeff Morales, CEO of CHSPA. “We received proposals from five-world class teams and are moving forward to deliver a world- class programme. It’s time to get to work in the Central Valley and create thousands of jobs.”
In the competitive bidding process, five teams had submitted proposals to CHSPA for the contract.
