The new Z-62/40 articulating boom lift improves upon the Genie Z-60/34, with a little more reach. Working height increases from 20.4 metres to 20.9 metres (62ft) and horizontal outreach extends to 12.5 metres (40ft) compared to 11.0 metres on the Z-60. It has zero rear tail swing and minimal front turntable tail swing in the stowed position. The Z-62 also delivers below ground reach (i.e. negative reach) of up to 1.7 metres.
The Genie Fast Mast system enables the operator to lower the platform to the ground without having to lower the secondary boom, ensuring fast descent. When elevating it also raises both boom sections simultaneously.
Tom Cannon, founder and director of Cannon Access, said: “This is a brilliantly-made machine that has all the hallmarks of Genie quality, durability and performance, the amount of thought in the design is staggering.”
He added: “The Fast Mast system is excellent and our customers also appreciate the larger 8ft basket. We have some lightweight 20-metre booms in the fleet like the Niftylift HR21 and they are a great compact machine for certain applications. However with the Genie Z-62/40 there really is no compromise; it’s got great performance, excellent stability and a really robust design - plus it’s very easy and intuitive to use.”
