There will be a basic price increase of up to 2%, depending on machine and region, plus a further increase of up to 6% on certain machines to take account for new emissions regulations.
Plant manufacturers like Caterpillar have had to renew their entire product ranges to fit cleaner engines to meet European and US emissions regulations.
“These price actions are a result of current industry factors as well as general economic conditions,” Caterpillar said.
Worldwide sales of Caterpillar machines declined 10% in the three months June-August this year compared to 2012.
