The energy recover facility is being built at a site in Four Ashes, south Staffordshire, to meet the county council’s plans to save £250m over the next 25 years and reduce landfill. The plant is designed to generate enough energy to power 32,000 homes from the residual waste left over after recycling.
Clugston Group chief executive Stephen Martin said: “This is a really exciting project to be involved with, one of the most challenging and exciting projects of its kind in the UK today. We are really looking forward to working on the facility with our technology partner CNIM and our local supply chain. It will bring real benefits in terms of both jobs and boosting the county’s economy.”
