The Ministry of Transport and national infrastructure agency, ANI, are tendering four schemes with a total length of 704km as part of the 'fourth generation of concessions'. The schemes range in length from 80km to work on 260km of the Villavicencio - Yopal corridor.
The new roads are designed to increase safety, reduce journey times and cut operating costs for cargo transport. Additionally, they will feature advanced systems and information technology for control and operation.
The first step in bidding is to submit an expression of interest. Ten prequalified bidders will be invited to the second stage.
The winning bidder will sign a PPP concession contract covering studies and final designs, financing, environmental management, construction, renovation, operation and maintenance.
