The contracts are packaged into three £300m lots, each with a single supplier, covering the north, central and south areas of HS2 phase one. The first phase is for a new high speed rail line linking London and Birmingham.
Publication of the contract notice for ‘EWP12101 Enabling Works’ in the Official Journal of the European Union marks the formal start of procurement, even though contractors have already been heavily briefed at a series of procurement conferences and briefing events in recent months.
The enabling works contracts include site clearance, demolition, and construction of site compounds, batching plants and access roads.
Contractors have until 23rd April to register interest.
In a separate development, Atkins has won a four year contract to provide building information modelling (BIM) technical services to HS2 Ltd.
