The expansion is designed to create both additional learning space and recreational areas. The first phase will include the addition of 25 classrooms, computer labs, specialist labs for training healthcare practitioners, a library and student study space.
The new learning facilities will make room for an additional 1,450 students at the campus, where approximately 3,500 are already studying.
Other facilities will include a multi-purpose athletic and recreation space featuring a gymnasium, fitness centre, informal study areas and event spaces. Garriock Hall, the main existing building, and other existing services, will be receiving upgrades as well.
This project will target LEED Gold Certification.
