Designed by Robothams Architects, the four-storey, 106-bed development, catering for older adults, will be built on vacant land at the corner of Banner Lane and Wickmans Drive in the Tile Hill area of the town.

Stepnell, which has its head office in Rugby, has now started work on the 6,700 sq m building. Ten per cent of the building’s energy will be generated on-site through the use of air source heat pumps to pre-heat the hot water system. As part of the scheme, Stepnell will create a residents’ garden and terrace area as well as a rooftop garden. The company will also build a car park and covered drop-off area. Õ¥Ö¼§ work is set to be completed in summer 2013.

Chessmann Consulting is project manager.
