Liebherr has created a LinkedIn profile for its new LB 44 rotary drilling rig, under the name Mister Torque.
Mister Torque is described as a drilling executive at Liebherr Group.
Somewhat flirtatiously, his elaborately constructed profile starts: “I'm looking foward getting in contact with you! Just send me an invitation!”
He adds: “I'm the latest development in Liebherr's range of deep foundation equipment: A weight of approx. 160 t / 380,000 lbs, drilling diameters of up to 3 m / 9.8 ft and drilling depths of maximum 92 m / 302 ft, to give you some data. I'm equipped with a V8 diesel engine offering 505 kW (677 HP) with the emission standard Tier 4i / stage IIIB.
“Born in 2013, I'm expanding the LB series at the upper end of the scale. Based on its many years of experience and extensive know-how, my masters have created me to react to the need for larger, more powerful machines!
“With my max. torque of 510 kNm / 376,000 lbs ft and my V8 677 HP diesel engine, I really stand for power. But nonetheless, I'm quite a handy guy to work with - and I'm really mobile!
“Last but not least: I stand on strong feet - maybe it's better to say on strong crawler tracks. With this solid undercarriage, I can work on many different job sites.”
