The video was taken by a camera-equipped drone that hovered above the 60 hectare site.
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs said shortly before his death in October 2011 that the new campus was intended to be "the best office building in the world". The $5bn building will house 12,000 employees. The toroid, four-storey structure – more space ship than doughnut – is designed by British architectural firm Foster+Partners, which took on the commission back in 2009.
It is said to be the largest private construction project ever undertaken in Silicon Valley. DPR/Skanska is the main joint venture contractor for the above ground structure. BNBuilders is constructing a 120,000 sqft auditorium and a 100,000 sqft gym below ground.
Completion of construction is scheduled for 2016.
