The latest fleet additions are 90 Skyjack electric scissor lifts and 15 Genie bi-energy boom lifts for AFI and 13 truck-mounted platforms for its Wilson Access fleet.
The Skyjack scissor lift investment comprises 50 units of the SJ3219 model, 30 of the SJ4632 and 10 of the SJ3226. The Genie booms are all Z4525 models.
These purchases are part of an overall investment of £7.5m made during 2013 in machines and delivery vehicles.
AFI director Steve Williams said the new machine would help meet growing demand for electric machines. “We are seeing that the market is moving further towards electric machines for use in internal maintenance and repair work, particularly in factories and for facilities management operations,” he said.
AFI acquired Wilson Access earlier this year. Its 13 new truck-mounts represent are Multitel, CTE, GSR and Wumag platforms, reaching heights of up to 45m. The first of these is set for delivery during January 2014.
