Byzak is an experienced provider of a range of mechanical and electrical, and civil engineering services to UK water and sewerage companies, predominantly on reservoirs, water and sewerage treatment plants and pumping stations.
Enterprise said that Byzak’s operations were complementary to its own water industry services, which mostly focus on the below ground pipe distribution network.
The acquisition of Byzak is in line with Enterprise’s strategy to broaden the range of services it offers to the UK’s utility companies. Byzak will be incorporated into Enterprise’s existing water capital and power projects delivery functions to create a comprehensive project provider, allowing the group to offer wide-ranging, cost effective asset management solutions to existing and prospective customers.
Byzak has forecast revenues of in excess of £55m in its current financial year. Clients include Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water, Scottish Water and United Utilities, representing new and existing Enterprise customers. Byzak employs 240 people across the north of England and Scotland.
Enterprise chairman Alan Peterson said: “Byzak has a strong reputation in its marketplace and is an excellent strategic fit with our existing water capabilities. It significantly broadens our service offering and client base and will allow us to provide a comprehensive, least-cost solution for existing and new customers. The acquisition represents an exciting new phase in supporting the continuing growth of our utilities business.”
