A-Plant has been given a three-year contract with an option to extend up to a further year.
A-Plant will provide excavators, pumps, telehandlers, rollers, accommodation and generators of various sizes. The equipment will be required on short, medium and long term hire with some equipment needing to be available on a 24/7 hire basis.
Environment Agency head of fleet operations Dale Eynon said: “The provision of hired-in plant to supplement our own internal fleet holding is an important part of our on-going commitment to ensure we provide our operational teams with the safest, most cost-effective, high quality and sustainable fleet. Our new partnership with A-plant embraces our approach and will lead to more efficient and effective service provision for our field teams.”
A-Plant strategic accounts director Andrew Spencer added: “This is a significant win for A-Plant and we are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract. We are extremely proud to be working with an organisation of this scale and we look forward to helping the Environment Agency meet their future objectives.”
