The project is Ferrovial’s first major infrastructure contract in Australia, where it is also bidding for several infrastructure projects.
The Pacific Highway runs along the eastern seaboard in Australia, linking Sydney to Brisbane. The upgrade covers the stretch of the Pacific Highway between Warrell Creek and Nambucca Heads, which is used by more than 15,000 motorists a day.
The project includes new bridges over the Nambucca river at Macksville and Warrell Creek, and two new grade separated interchanges. Following a detailed design phase, construction is expected to begin in the second half of this year.
