The 1.5-kilometre bridge on the Pacific Highway will cross the Clarence River at Harwood. It will be the longest of over 100 bridges on the upgraded Pacific Highway between Woolgoolga and Ballina, once it is upgraded. Â
The Clarence River Crossing is the second project won by the consortium within the plan to upgrade the Pacific Highway to four lanes. In 2014, the two companies were selected to upgrade and widen a 19.5km stretch of the highway between Warrell Creek and Nambucca Heads, including the construction of several bridges and two interchanges. It was Ferrovial’s first major project in Australia.
