Cairo Metro Line 3 will be extended by a consortium of Vinci, Bouygues, Alstom, Thales, Colas and Eurovia in a consortium with Egypt’s companies Orascom and Arab Contractors.
“This major achievement in the area of French-Egyptian cooperation, the previous phases of which received financial support from the French government and European co-financing, will benefit almost four million passengers every day,” said a statement from French Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development.
Vinci and Bouygues handed over the 7.2km section in May 2014, five months ahead of schedule.
