The contract with the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is part of a programme of infrastructure expansion at the CSG site in Kourou, French Guiana, home to the Ariane space programme.
Fugro’s contract includes an integrated geophysical investigation using innovative multicomponent seismic (3C) techniques. Seismic specialists from Fugro’s Engineering Geophysics Service Line are carrying out data acquisition and interpretation while Fugro Seismic Imaging is undertaking data processing using workflows developed for shallow multicomponent seismic analysis.
Reported data on rockhead characterisation and other features will enable the client’s design team to optimise foundation design and minimise development risk.
