The deal will see GAP’s logo emblazoned on the players’ shorts for both home and away games throughout the UK and Europe.
The deal is intended to strengthen the company’s brand presence in the London area and beyond. London Irish plays at the 24,000-seat Madejski stadium in Reading. GAP also gets branding and hospitality rights at home games, with touchline boards, advertisements on the stadium’s big screen and promotion around the grounds.
GAP commercial director Mark Anderson (who is surely set to suddenly have a lot of new mates in the coming months) said: “Our sponsorship deal with London Irish marks an important development for GAP. We are working hard to raise our brand awareness across the whole of the UK, particularly in London, and this is an ideal platform to help us achieve that goal. We wish London Irish lots of success in the season ahead and are delighted to be a major sponsor of the club.”
