The 117-bedroom development will comprise of three cluster buildings set in landscaped gardens. Each building will have individual bedroom suites and communal areas for shared living and dining.
An existing building on the site will be converted to create a central ‘heart’ facility to provide reception, dining room and hair salon.
Rated BREEAM ‘Very Good’ the development will include ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic cells and sedam roofing.
GB Building Solutions has delivered more than £250million of work in the healthcare sector in the last five years. Chairman and chief executive Martin Smout said: “GB has extensive experience in delivering quality care homes and working closely with Anchor, we are proud to be playing a part in making a real positive difference to the quality of life for more than one hundred older people in the West Byfleet area”.
The work started on site at the beginning of January and is expected to take 68 weeks to complete.
