Gleeds said that Mark Syrett’s remit would be to help manage the continued expansion of the rail team, which has seen a 25% increase in turnover over the last 12 months. He will be based in London.
Also joining Gleeds is Richard Golding as associate director responsible for the delivery of audit and assurance services on behalf of the Office of Rail & Road, HS2 and the Department for Transport. Over his 40-year career, he has worked for Mott Macdonald and Network Rail.
Mr Syrett said: “Richard and I join Gleeds at a really exciting time for the infrastructure division. Having been selected for a host of high profile schemes, like Network Rail and HS2, we are both looking forward to an opportunity to getting stuck in to some challenging but equally rewarding schemes.”
Gleeds chairman Richard Steer added: “The UK government has announced its plans to invest up to 1.2% of GDP in infrastructure, and we believe that both Mark and Richard will be instrumental in helping us to capitalise on the opportunity this presents. We intend to build on recent successes and expand our service offering across the sector further still over the coming year.”
