The £220m Ulster Hospital Phase B Redevelopment project, for which the initial contact notice was published nearly two years ago, is expected to take 38 months to build.
The £74m first part of Phase B comprises a 30,000 sq m generic ward block with 288 ensuite bedrooms that will also provide day surgery, endoscopy and angiograph services as well as providing the main pharmacy for the hospital site. It is expected to be completed by 2016. The second part of Phase B is for an acute services block.
The Graham-BAM joint venture saw off competition for the contract from Farrans/Gilbert Ash JV, FCC Martin JV, John Paul/O’Hare McGovern JV, McLauglin & Harvey and John Sisk & Sons.
Northcroft – part of Capita Symonds – is cost managing the scheme.
