The appointment was made by Kimberly’s chairman, Ray Ledger, who led a takeover of the company in 2007. Mr Ledger and Mr Lowe are old colleagues from Hewden Stuart back in the 1990s. In 2001 Mr Lowe succeeded Mr Ledger as boss of Hewden’s mobile crane operations when the latter left to manage Ainscough Crane Hire.
Mr Lowe left Hewden two years later to run PC Harrington’s tower crane business HTC Plant, which was formed through the acquisition of Hewden’s tower crane division. Mr Lowe left HTC last year and at Kimberly is now re-united once again with his former boss.
Kimberly Group specialises in access, telehandlers and tool hire.
