The application also covers construction of associated developments in the surrounding area.

The IPC now has 28 days to decide whether to accept or reject it. The decision will be made in accordance with section 55 of the Planning Act 2008.

If it is accepted, the application will be examined by IPC commissioners and the application documents made available on the IPC.

Following the examination, if the Localism Bill currently before parliament is enacted, the IPC will make a recommendation to the secretary of state for energy and climate change who will make the final decision whether or not to grant development consent.
