The Greenfield project in Armadale, Perth, is HCA’s biggest infrastructure investment to date. The land covers an area of approximately 100,000m2 with an estimated total project expenditure of AU$100m (£57.6m) once completed.
HCA managing director David Harvey said: “The new facility to be built is a strategic investment in our company’s future, and aims to strengthen our ability to deliver the highest level of support to our customers in the Western Australian market as well as further afield,” he said.
The complex will feature a series of specialised buildings including an assembly facility for both mining trucks and mining excavators, a remanufacturing workshop, a parts distribution centre and a dedicated training facility.
HCA has built a strategic partnership with the local authorities to develop infrastructure to the Forrestdale Business Park, where the facility will be built.
Construction is expected to begin in April next year with the project scheduled for completion in June 2015.
