The project is the initiative of the forces charity, Help for Heroes.
The programme will provide a rehabilitation facility at the Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth, where Interserve is already delivering integrated support services for 25 years through a PFI (Private Finance Initiative) scheme.
The project will be designed, project managed, built and maintained by Interserve who will also look after legal and PFI related contractual changes.
Õ¥Ö¼§ is set to start in July and will be in two phases. Phase one consists of a 60-bed accommodation facility including family rooms and recreational spaces designed for the ‘Recovery pathway’ rehabilitation process and managed by Hasler Company, a new forces unit established with the intent of rehabilitating injured service personnel.
Phase two will see the construction of a 25m, six-lane swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium and consulting rooms, again with the purpose of being used in connection with the recovery pathway process.
